Requirements:
- Ph.D. or relevant experience in electrical, materials, mechanical, or optical engineering
- 5+ years of device fabrication experience (semiconductor materials, MEMS, microfluidics, LEDs, or displays)
- Hands on experience with optical bench set-ups. Proficiency in designing and programming automated data acquisition systems
- Hands-on experience in photometric characterization of displays
Other skills:
- Demonstrated outstanding performance in documentation and presentation of experiments
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Must be meticulous, hands-on and detail-oriented
Day-to-day work includes:
- Design a new type of LC display device
- Simulate device performance (Switching voltage, device speed, cross-talk, modulation range)
- Create layout files
- Choose LC materials and other semiconductor materials
- Fabricate devices in house fab or work with outside vendors when necessary
- Create measurement set-ups to characterize display performance, automate data collection, analyze data
- Coordinate all activities with external vendors
