• Ph.D. or relevant experience in electrical, materials, mechanical, or optical engineering
  • 5+ years of device fabrication experience (semiconductor materials, MEMS, microfluidics, LEDs, or displays)
  • Hands on experience with optical bench set-ups. Proficiency in designing and programming automated data acquisition systems
  • Hands-on experience in photometric characterization of displays

Other skills:

  • Demonstrated outstanding performance in documentation and presentation of experiments

  • Must be meticulous, hands-on and detail-oriented

Day-to-day work includes:

  • Design a new type of LC display device
  • Simulate device performance (Switching voltage, device speed, cross-talk, modulation range)
  • Create layout files
  • Choose LC materials and other semiconductor materials
  • Fabricate devices in house fab or work with outside vendors when necessary
  • Create measurement set-ups to characterize display performance, automate data collection, analyze data
  • Coordinate all activities with external vendors
