On the First Patent Day our President Prof. Umran İnan presented plates to the inventors of the 48 patent applications filed until the end of 2014.
Our President emphasized the importance of patent protection of the university inventions in the opening speech. Research Project Development and Technology Transfer Director Ebru Tan shared our Intellectual Property and Licensing activities. Our guest speaker Prof. Hakan Ürey from Koç University noticed his patent applications, licensing activities of thermal camera and spectrometer inventions and, spinoff companies of Kuantag, Tarabios and Stop Parkinson. Our another guest speaker Prof. Nesrin Hasırcı from Middle East Technical University, Vice Director of Biomaten, shared her experiences regarding her investigations about biomaterial and tissue engineering from 80s to today and the difficulties of patenting them in early 90’s.
In the second part of our event, Technology transfer specialist Aybüke Semerci presented our patent process and information regarding Patent search.
